Course Description:
During this course we will discuss the relationship between dental pathologies and conditions affecting the foregut region of the abdomen. We will visit the surgical techniques used to treat these foregut conditions, and discuss basic differences in techniques. We will also discuss the implications of some of the treatments for obesity, both surgical and medical, and how these affect dental health.
Objectives:
Learn about the dental implications of conditions like hiatal hernia, acid reflux, and achalasia
2. Be able to discuss the basics of surgical solutions to acid reflux and achalasia with patients
