About the event
To articulate and inform licensees about Comar 10.44.22, the Maryland Dental Regulation on Continuing Education, and to address the role of the dental practitioners play in preventing prescription drug abuse.
Objectives:
Prescription writing, proper technique, protection of prescription pads or software prescription programs.
Discuss available electronic programs, CRISP, Maryland PDMP
Prescription Drug Abuse Crisis, review of the problem throughout the country, including Review of DEA Schedule of Controlled Substances, recognition of commonly abused prescribed drugs, “Doctor Shopping”.
Opioid Prescribing, drug diversion and educating patients when prescribing CDS.
